Tips / Tip
Let AI draft the social post, then run five checks before you hit post
A model will turn a blog post, a project update or a photo caption into a social post in seconds. The draft's rarely the problem. The problem is posting it without reading it the way someone outside your organisation will.
Give it what it needs to sound like you:
Turn the text below into a [LINKEDIN / INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK] post.
Audience: [WHO READS THIS ACCOUNT].
Voice: here are two posts we've written before that sound right:
[PASTE TWO REAL POSTS]
Rules: UK English, under [N] words, no hashtags beyond [N], no claims that
aren't in the text, no emojis unless the examples use them.
Then list every fact in your draft and where in my text it came from.
Text:
[PASTE]
That last line does most of the work. Anything it can't point back to, cut.
Then the five checks:
- Could you prove every claim if someone asked? "Award-winning", "trusted by", numbers and comparisons all need evidence behind them. If the post promotes something you sell, it's an ad under the CAP Code, whoever wrote it.
- No realistic faces that aren't real people who agreed. A generated photo of a "happy customer" or a person who looks like someone well known implies an endorsement that doesn't exist.
- Label it where it's expected. Meta asks people to disclose photorealistic video or realistic audio that was made or changed digitally, and may label AI content itself. Disclosure doesn't rescue a misleading post, though. Get the post right first.
- Read it out loud. If it doesn't sound like your account, or it's got the generic AI opener and three emojis, rewrite the first line yourself.
- Check the links, the tags and what's in the picture. The right URL, people tagged who are happy to be, and nothing confidential in the background of a photo: a whiteboard, a screen, a patient list.
For the picture, real beats generated. If the post is for paid ads rather than your own feed, the same checks apply with the ASA's rules on top; see AI Max and Advantage+ on a small budget.
Saving the prompt with your two example posts means the next one starts in your voice. See save prompts as templates.
